From Steve Wright: Saddened to learn from Liz's husband that Liz died Feb. 8 after fighting Stage 4 duodenal cancer. When she and I emailed in January 2022 she had hoped to attend our reunion.

From Liz on Aug. 16:

Hi Steve,

Sorry not to get back to you...I ended up having a GI bleed, and spent a week in the hospital.

The bleed was from a tumor in my doudenum, turns out I have Stage 4 doudenal cancer. I am awaiting to hear if I am on a plan to start chemo next week.

I was looking forward to seeing everyone in September, but I am not sure it will be possible.

Please give my best to everyone, and keep me in the loop.. even if I can not be there I would enjoy seeing pictures...

Enjoy, and thank you for all you do.

Liz

Steve,

This is to let you know that Liz was diagnosed with duodenal cancer in August.  She started chemo in September until December when we found out that the chemo was doing more harm than good.  She soon started to decline.  On Feb. 8 at 5:45am she joined her parents, brothers and half sister in heaven.

Marc Woodbury her beloved husband of 24 years.

Liz was a kind and gentle soul with an astonishing intellect. She will truly be missed and may she rest in peace.

Liz was a very gentle, unassuming but wickedly funny person in that way that very intelligent, very humble people sometimes are. Blessings to her husband and friends.

Though it's been over 50 years, I have vivid memories of my SPJHS and SPHS classmates the way they were in school. I think of us as kids...so I'm sort of shocked when I learn of someone's passing. Liz and I weren't close friends but I have many memories of chit chats and giggles...and that's what I will remember. Bless you Liz !!!

I agree with some of the prior comments.  Liz had a delightful, gentle spirit, with a quick wit and a  fun sense of humor.  I was fortunate enough to be her campaign manager when she became our commissioner of Health and Safety in 9th grade.  Blessings and comfort to her family, rest in peace Liz.

Liz was funny, honest, smart, and just fun to be around. The world was a better place with her in it.  May she rest in peace.  Thanks for the memories, Liz!
