William Steven Wilgus

December 29, 1952 - March 13, 2017

William Steven "Bill" Wilgus of Eugene, Oregon, passed away March 13, 2017, at St. Charles Medical Center in Bend.  He was 64.

A Funeral Service will take place Saturday, March 25, 2017 at 11:00 AM at Deschutes Memorial Chapel and Gardens, located at 63875 N. Hwy 97 in Bend, Oregon.  A Graveside Service will immediately follow.

Bill was born December 29, 1952 in Ashland, Ohio, to William E, and Maxine P. (Boyd) Wilgus,  He attended South Pasadena High School from 1968-1971 where he lettered in baseball, football and basketball.  His football team won the CIF "AAA" State Championship in 1969.

Bill received a scholorship from The University of Oregon to play baseball from 1971-1974.  He received a Bachelor's degree in Education and then earned his Master's degree.

He spent his entire career as a health teacher and coached golf, baseball and football at Willamette High School until retiring in 2008.

He enjoyed playing golf, fishing and coaching.

He is survived by his wife, Sharon Wlgus; his mother, Maxine Wilgus of Sunriver, OR; and two sons, William A. Wilgus of Eugene, OR and Skyler R. Wilgus of Bend, OR.  He was predecesed in death by his father William E. Wilgus.
