Not only did we go to high school together, but we grew up together. Spending time with Allison and the entire Stanley family as a kid was such a great experience. My mom and Mrs. Stanley, aka DJ, were the best of friends and thanks to that friendship, we got to spend loads of time with Allison and her brothers.
Looking back now, now I sound like an old man, it just seems like yesterday that we were on campus attending classes, hanging out during the break or at lunchtime. No idea what the future would bring for any of us. As the years started to go by we saw reality in the loss of classmates, friends, and spouses. Allison was always one of those who looked on the bright side of life, even when she was fighting her battle. Nothing negative. Nothing sour. Nothing that said, "Poor me." Nothing but a shining example. I will miss you and your smile.
